He said that a session of intergovernmental Uzbek-Georgian commission on economic cooperation and political consultations between Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Georgia, which were held in Tashkent, allowed to discuss actual issues of developing bilateral relations.
Konstantin Jgenti said that trade turnover between Georgia and Uzbekistan made up about US$60 million in eight months of 2014, which rose twice compared to result of twelve months of 2013. This is also connected with transportation of Uzbek goods, including cotton, via Georgian port Poti.
Ambassador said that the supplies of agriculture and pharmaceutical goods increased as well.
Envoy said that Uzbek businesses are considering issue of organization of textile production in Georgia. He said that this will allow to export products to European states on zero tariff rate in line with agreement between EU and Georgia.
