Uzbekistan Participates in 9th CAREC Think Tank Forum on “Green” Economy

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Staff of the Institute for Macroeconomic and Regional Studies (IMRI) under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan participated in the 9th Forum of Think Tank Experts, held within the framework of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC Think Tank Development Forum) in Urumqi.

The forum focused on key areas of regional cooperation, including the development of the “green economy,” innovative financing, and sustainable lending.

Special attention was given to initiatives related to the “green bank” and climate finance.

IMRI senior specialist Nodira Jabbrova presented new initiatives aimed at expanding the CAREC Think Tank Network (CTTN) to strengthen expert collaboration across the region.

Simultaneously, the Urumqi-based Central Asia Economic Cooperation “Tian Shan” Forum was held, dedicated to enhancing integration in transport, trade, and investment. One of the forum’s key events was the opening of the Central Asia Financial Cooperation Research Center, which will promote stronger financial collaboration among CAREC member countries.

The CAREC program, launched by the Asian Development Bank in 1997, brings together Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, China, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, and aims to advance regional economic cooperation.
