Uzbekistan organizes the transportation of compatriots stuck on the Russian-Kazakh border

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On behalf of the Head of State, the competent authorities of Russia and Kazakhstan have worked out the issue of transporting Uzbek citizens, who are on the Russian-Kazakh interstate border to their homeland.

The embassies of our country in Moscow and Astana, the Consulates General in Kazan and Aktau compiled a list of compatriots located near the Mashtakovo checkpoint, and also solved organizational and transport issues.

In total, 1,100 compatriots included in the above list will be taken to their homeland. In particular, on 18 and 19 May 2020, 550 fellow citizens are scheduled to leave for buses to Uzbekistan, which will be placed on 14-day quarantine upon arrival.

We remind you that the transportation of compatriots across the Russian-Kazakh border is carried out as an exception and on the basis of a list previously compiled by diplomatic missions. An additional list is not foreseen.

In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs convincingly requests fellow citizens on the territory of Russia not to attempt to travel to the Mashtakovo checkpoint or other crossing points of the Russian-Kazakh interstate border, to remain in their current places of residence and to strictly observe all quarantine measures.

Regarding the resumption of the return of our citizens through the territory of Kazakhstan, additional information will be given.
