Uzbekistan Officially Joins the European Raw Materials Alliance

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has officially joined the European Raw Materials Alliance (ERMA), strengthening its position in the global market for strategic minerals.

According to the Uzbek Technological Metals Plant (TMK), the country signed a memorandum of understanding with the European Union last year in the field of critical raw materials.

ERMA serves as a key platform shaping the resource policy of European industry and ensuring stable supplies of materials such as lithium, tungsten, molybdenum, and rare earth elements. The alliance plays a crucial role in Europe’s transition to green technologies and the development of future energy systems.

ERMA Director Massimo Gasparon expressed expectations for fruitful cooperation with TMK aimed at achieving the alliance’s goals and strengthening the partnership between the European Union and Uzbekistan.

Joining ERMA offers TMK new opportunities, including access to European grants and investments, joint research projects, collaboration with leading European research centers, and entry into international markets with higher quality standards.

This partnership will enable Uzbekistan to move from being a simple raw material supplier to becoming an innovative and strategic partner in global industry.
