The proposal was made on 14 September 2016 during the meeting of Minister of Agriculture of Russia Aleksandr Tkachev and First Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Rustam Azimov.
At the meeting, the sides discussed cooperation between two countries in agri-industrial complex, the press service of the Russian agriculture ministry said.
Russia and Uzbekistan created a working group on supply of fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan to Russia. The group held its first meeting in July. It was noted that this year supply of fruits and vegetables significantly grew twice, but there are still problems with supply of Uzbek products to Russia.
The sides expressed readiness to boost cooperation all problematic issues.
