Uzbekistan National Team Climbs to 50th in FIFA Rankings
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbekistan national football team has improved its position in the latest FIFA rankings, entering the top 50 teams in the world.
As of April 1, Uzbekistan moved up two spots to 50th place, earning 1,465.34 points, compared to 52nd in the previous update. The team’s recent 0-0 draw against Venezuela under head coach Fabio Cannavaro contributed an additional 0.03 ranking points.
In the Asian zone, Uzbekistan holds fifth place, trailing Japan (18th), Iran (21st), South Korea (25th), and Australia (27th).
The global ranking is led by France, followed by Spain and Argentina. The top ten also includes England, Portugal, Brazil, the Netherlands, Morocco, Belgium, and Germany.
