Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 12 to 20 July, the international sniper competition Otkir Tigh-2025 was held in Urumqi, China, bringing together 45 teams from 25 countries.

According to the National Guard’s press service, the team from Uzbekistan secured first place, demonstrating outstanding performance across all stages.

Uzbek snipers were particularly praised for their excellence in two of the most challenging exercises:

Comprehensive Shooting Drill — 24 targets located at varying distances were hit from 7 firing positions, with a maximum range of up to 1,200 meters;

Urban High-Altitude Shooting — 6 targets were successfully engaged at distances ranging from 100 to 650 meters in a simulated urban environment.

In addition, members of the Uzbek National Guard achieved high scores in individual shooting events and the extreme sniper shooting discipline, earning top placements.

As a result, the Uzbek team was awarded 8 medals, 10 diplomas, and valuable prizes, and took home the championship trophy in operational, technical, and tactical training categories.

This victory at Otkir Tigh-2025 stands as yet another testament to the high level of training and international competitiveness of Uzbekistan’s military personnel.
