Uzbekistan National Football Team Heads to Training Camp in the UAE

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbekistan Football Association has announced the squad for the national team, which will participate in a training camp in the United Arab Emirates. Scheduled for January, the camp is part of the team’s preparation for the upcoming World Cup. The training process will be led by head coach Fabio Cannavaro.

The announced squad consists of players currently competing in the Uzbekistan Super League.

A total of three goalkeepers, nine defenders, nine midfielders, and nine forwards have been called up. Squad selection takes into account the current international calendar as well as the continuation of national championships in various countries.

Notably, the team includes almost no foreign-based players, with the exception of Dostonbek Tursunov.
