Uzbekistan Mourns Honored Actress Oysha Juraeva
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 March, Uzbekistan lost its honored actress Oysha Juraeva, her family confirmed. Tragically, her death coincided with her 79th birthday.
Oysha Juraeva was born on 24 March 1947, in Jalal-Abad region of Kyrgyzstan and began her career at the Kokand Theater. Her husband was also an artist. She is survived by a daughter and two sons.
Juraeva made her film debut in 1971, playing a leading role in Drama of Love. Over the years, she appeared in a number of significant feature films, including Meros (Heritage), Jumbok (The Mystery), Tolikkan Kungillar (Weary Hearts), Armonli Dunyo (World of Regrets), Burch (Duty), Jasur (The Brave), Narigi Sohilda Qolgan Bolalik (Childhood Left on the Other Shore), Suv Yokalab (Along the Water), Maysaraning Ishi (Maysara’s Tricks), and Kabrdagi Khazina (Treasure in the Grave).
Juraeva’s creative work left a lasting mark on Uzbek theater and cinema, and her performances continue to be cherished by audiences and critics alike.
