Uzbekistan modernizes Andijan-Savay-Khanabad railway section

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan is implementing a project to modernize the Andijan-Savai-Khanabad railway section with the organization of suburban train traffic.

The government of Uzbekistan has approved the technical and economic calculation of the project “Modernization of the Andijan-Savay-Khanabad railway section with the organization of suburban train traffic.

According to the document, the cost of the project is more than US$17.39 million. Uzbekiston Temir Yollari will send over US$11.33 million to finance the project. Another US$6.06 million will be allocated from the state budget.

The resolution stated that the project will be implemented within 15 months. Within the framework of the project, about 65 km of railway tracks will be modernized.
