Uzbekistan Ministry of Health: Compensation Payments for Children After “Doc-1 Max” Are Not Within Ministry’s Authority

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The issue of compensation payments to children who became disabled after taking the drug “Doc-1 Max” does not fall within the competence of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, Minister of Health Asilbek Khudayarov stated.

According to him, all patients affected by the use of the drug receive medical care according to standard procedures — through family doctors at their place of residence, on the same terms as other citizens.

If outpatient treatment is needed, children are provided care at clinics; in the case of inpatient treatment, they receive free medical care at state healthcare facilities.

At the same time, the minister emphasized that the question of compensation lies beyond the ministry’s authority.

He noted that several court proceedings have already taken place regarding this case, with corresponding decisions issued, and that the ministry’s responsibility remains the medical monitoring and support of patients who suffered severe consequences from the poisoning.
