Uzbekistan may restructure Uzbekistan Havo Yollari

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan offered to restructure the country’s national airline – Uzbekistan Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways).

A draft presidential resolution on measures to develop tourism in the Republic of Uzbekistan in the period up to 2025 was published on the portal for discussing draft regulatory documents.

The draft resolution proposes measures for development of a national civil aviation system.

In particular, the authors of the resolution propose to restructure the national airline into several competing companies, separating aviation, management of airports and the aviation regulatory body.

Also, measures will be taken to improve the competitiveness of the national airline, including by improving the service, quality and quantity of multimedia services in various languages on board, organizing the presentation of national dishes, conducting a more flexible pricing policy, expanding the use of online booking services and buying out air tickets.

Uzbekistan plans to increase the number of foreign airlines operating regular flights to and from regions of the country by introducing the Open Sky regime on the territory of some international airports of the republic with the involvement of low-cost airlines.

The draft resolution underlined that these measures will help increase the competitiveness of the national airline and increase the flow of foreign tourists, as well as reduce the tariffs for aviation transport services.
