Uzbekistan May Face Poor Air Quality Through End of Week, Says UzHydromet

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Poor air quality in Uzbekistan could persist until the end of this week due to continuing weather inversions, the country’s meteorological service, UzHydromet, reported.

Forecasters had initially expected conditions that prevent natural mixing of air layers to last only until November 24. Updated data, however, indicate that these atmospheric factors may remain in effect longer.

Specialists noted that weather will remain unstable during this period, with pollution levels fluctuating throughout the day. Improvements in air quality will depend on changes in air masses, stronger winds, or precipitation.

UzHydromet emphasized that the observed inversion is a natural, seasonal, and temporary phenomenon. Authorized state agencies are monitoring the situation continuously and will take operational measures if necessary.
