Uzbekistan May Face Egypt for the First Time in Football History

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbekistan national football team may face Egypt’s national team for the first time ever in an upcoming friendly tournament.

The mini-tournament is scheduled to take place in the United Arab Emirates from 10 to 18 November, featuring national teams from Uzbekistan, Iran, Egypt, and Cape Verde.

In the opening round, Uzbekistan is expected to play against Egypt, while Iran will face Cape Verde.

If the tournament goes ahead as planned, it will mark the first official meeting between the national teams of Uzbekistan and Egypt.

Earlier, Ravshan Irmatov, First Vice President of the Uzbekistan Football Association, noted the possibility of the team’s participation in an international tournament in Dubai.
