Uzbekistan Launches Three-Day Experience-Sharing Program for Vocational Education Staff with EU Support
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 2 February 2026, Uzbekistan launched a three-day intensive training and experience-sharing program for the country’s Regional Centers of Vocational Excellence as part of the European Union’s DARYA project — “Dialogue and Action for Youth Advancement in Central Asia.”
The project is implemented by the European Training Foundation (ETF) in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation and the Agency for Vocational Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In his welcoming address, Christos Marazopoulos, Head of the Cooperation Department at the EU Delegation to Uzbekistan, emphasized the importance of professional excellence as a key driver in the development of vocational education and training systems in the European Union, noting that similar approaches are being applied in Uzbekistan under the ongoing vocational education reforms.
The program brings together representatives from 14 Regional Centers of Vocational Excellence across all regions of the country, along with employers actively collaborating with the centers and officials from regional education authorities.
The initiative is part of the Global Gateway program and aims to invest in human capital, develop professional skills, and improve the quality of education, thereby supporting inclusive economic growth, strengthening regional economies, and promoting sustainable development in Uzbekistan.
