Uzbekistan Launches Second Phase of the Madad-2 Project

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A ceremonial event marking the symbolic launch of the second phase of the Madad project took place at the Ministry of Justice.

The Madad initiative is aimed at providing legal and socio-economic support to citizens who wish to start their own businesses but face challenges related to resources and opportunities.

The first phase of the project was successfully implemented in the Denov district.

One of the most notable success stories is that of Dilorom Yuldosheva, who managed to establish a business employing more than 60 beneficiaries. She was awarded the Mardlik Order and included in the BBC list of 100 Inspiring Women.

The second phase will be expanded to remote areas of the country, including the Surxondiyor mahalla in Denov district and Navkat mahalla in Koshrabot district.

The initiative envisions the creation of more than 200 new jobs, the employment of women, youth, and persons with disabilities, as well as improvements to local living conditions.

A specialised platform, Farovonlik markazi, will be established to support entrepreneurship under the mottos “Not assistance, but opportunity” and “From a small initiative to major income.”

A mixed-production cooperative will be set up within the centre to unite project participants.

At the conclusion of the event, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Madad NGO to jointly implement the second phase of the project.
