Uzbekistan Launches Regular Block Trains to Europe via Turkmenbashi Port
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2025, JSC “UztemiryoIcontainer” successfully organized regular container shipments from Uzbekistan to European countries through Turkmenbashi port, implementing the President’s directive on the transformation of the railway network.
The Presidential Decree No. F-70 dated 31 December 2024, “On Accelerating the Transformation Processes in the Railway Network,” outlines key tasks for establishing regular block train services from Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan’s ports, including Turkmenbashi.
Under this initiative, in 2025, JSC “UztemiryoIcontainer” dispatched containerized cargo to European countries via Turkmenbashi port. A total of 18 block trains transported mineral fertilizers, potassium, urea, aluminum, and copper.
During the year, 380 containers were sent from Sergeli station, 228 containers from Nazarbek station, and 25 containers from Assake station. Shipments were delivered to Italy, Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Azerbaijan, and several other European countries.
The launch of block trains along this route holds strategic significance for expanding Uzbekistan’s export potential, diversifying its transport and logistics system, and enhancing competitiveness along international transport corridors.
