Uzbekistan Launches PharmaNext Program to Boost Pharmaceutical Innovation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry has announced the launch of a new eight-week program called PharmaNext, designed to support innovative projects in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals in Uzbekistan.
The program is unique in that it simultaneously strengthens institutional capacity and fosters specific technological initiatives.
The first component of PharmaNext focuses on executives of research institutes, universities, and scientific centers, emphasizing systematization and institutional leadership. Its main goal is to create an internal innovation management system oriented toward market needs. Expected outcomes include the implementation of GLP/GCP/GMP and SaMD standards, development of SOW templates for effective technology transfer to local CMO outsourcers, and formulation of an innovation roadmap for 2026–2030 with targeted financing.
The second component is aimed at startups and research teams, focusing on product creation and commercialization. It enables participants to move their projects from concept to working prototype or proof of concept (PoC) within eight weeks, while also assessing real costs for clinical trials or MVP scaling.
The PharmaNext program aims to transform Uzbekistan’s scientific potential into practical outcomes, unlocking new opportunities for the growth of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.
