Uzbekistan Launches First National Acceleration Program for Women in Tech Entrepreneurship
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 30 July 2025, Tashkent hosted the official launch of SG Women, the first nationwide acceleration program in Uzbekistan dedicated entirely to supporting women and girls in technology entrepreneurship.
The initiative is being implemented with the support of the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan and covers all regions of the country.
SG Women is designed to promote digital inclusivity and expand women’s participation in the startup ecosystem. The program offers structured training, mentoring support, practical development of business ideas, and community-building activities. Participants will gain access to master classes, one-on-one mentoring, and opportunities to publicly present their projects. The best teams will receive continued support to scale up their initiatives.
The program was unveiled during the Pitch & Rise event, organized in partnership with the Startup Garage platform. Women entrepreneurs showcased their startup projects, and the contest finalists were awarded by Kamola Sabirova, Adviser to the Minister for Youth, Women, Freelance, and the Promotion of Uzbekistan as a Regional IT Hub.
“Uzbekistan is undergoing a rapid transformation, and women are playing a key role in these changes. From tech startups to digital solutions, they are making a significant contribution to the country’s development. Programs focused on women highlight their readiness for leadership and innovation,” emphasized Kamola Sabirova.
In addition to educational activities, SG Women aims to foster a sustainable community through regular meetings, thematic podcasts featuring successful female entrepreneurs, and networking events that encourage knowledge-sharing. Special attention is being given to accessibility and regional outreach to ensure equal opportunities for women across the country, including those from remote areas.
“SG Women is not just an educational initiative. It is a platform for growth, confidence, and entrepreneurial leadership. We believe in the tremendous potential of Uzbek women and are creating the conditions for them to fully realize it,” said Muhammad Khalil, founder of Startup Garage.
The launch of SG Women aligns with Uzbekistan’s priorities in digital transformation and sustainable development. The program marks an important step toward building a more inclusive and competitive innovation-driven economy.
