Uzbekistan launches 100 large production projects in Jan-Sep

Uzbekistan completed realization of 100 large production projects with total cost of US$3.7 billion in nine months of 2016 within the investment programme.
According to the Ministry of Economy and State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, the country completed the projects on expansion of cement plant in Jizzkah region, launch of production of automobile model T-250 at GM Uzbekistan, etc.
About 22,000 projects were realized in the regions in the reporting period, of which 4,274 projects were realized in industry with launch of new production capacities at 3,195 enterprises, new production capacities were opened at 162 enterprises and capacities at 264 were modernized and at 653 enterprises were expanded.
About US$2.65 billion of foreign investments and loans were directed to realization of these projects, which grew by 11.2% year-on-year. About US$1.8 billion of investments were foreign direct investments.
Share of foreign investments in total volume of used investments rose from 21.1% to 22.3%.
