Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan to strengthen cooperation in railway sector

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Chairman of the Board of the Uzbekistan Temir Yollari (Uzbekistan Railways) Husniddin Hasilov met with the chairman of the Board “National Company” Kazakhstan Temir Zholy Sauat Minbayev.

The parties discussed the further development of bilateral cooperation in general and issues of freight and passenger traffic.

Currently, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have established reliable and mutually beneficial ties not only in the socio-economic direction, but also in the development of the transport system. Undoubtedly, the interaction of railway networks is an important factor in achieving high results. In addition, most of the freight by rail from Uzbekistan to the world market is carried out through the territory of Kazakhstan. Given these facts, the two states are constantly improving their work in the direction of ensuring traffic safety on the railway, increasing passenger traffic and cargo traffic.

At the meeting, including the exchange of views on these issues. In particular, they talked about increasing the volume of freight and passenger traffic on the railway communications of the two countries, creating additional benefits for the transport of transit cargo.

During the talks, topical issues were comprehensively analyzed and important tasks were identified, the implementation of which plays an important role in the development and improvement of bilateral relations.
