Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Uzbekistan has joined the Interstate Council for Industrial Safety of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Dunyo news agency reported.
The resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On joining international treaties”, providing for joining the agreement on cooperation in the field of ensuring industrial safety at hazardous production facilities, was adopted on 26 September 2018.
Currently, the specially authorized state body in the field of industrial safety, in accordance with the law, is the State Inspectorate “Sanoatgeokontekhnazorat”.
The Interstate Council for Industrial Safety (ISB) for cooperation in the field of industrial safety at hazardous production facilities among the CIS countries was established on 28 September 2001. The Council is a CIS industry cooperation body.
The member states of the ISB are Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation, as well as Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
The entry of our country into the ISB CIS will allow to effectively interact in matters of ensuring industrial safety, harmonizing the requirements of industrial safety, improving the national regulatory and technical documentation in the field of industrial safety; exchange information, experience; to develop effective measures to prevent accidents and accidents aimed at ensuring guarantees of the safety of life and health of workers employed in hazardous production facilities, as well as protecting the population and the environment from technological accidents.
The participation of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the ISB will contribute not only to strengthening industrial safety, but also to cooperation with specialists from the CIS countries.
