Uzbekistan, Japan hold political consultations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Within the next round of political consultation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with the Special representative for Central Asia and Caucasus affairs and deputy director-general of Bureau for Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan Norio Maruyama on 29 January 2014.

The sides exchanged opinion on all complex f inter-governmental cooperation, including in format of Central Asia+Japan Dialogue and within international organizations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.

They also considered implementation of agreements, reached during the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov to Japan in February 2011.

Special attention was paid to execution of bilateral agreements in trade-economic, investment spheres, as well as perspective joint projects in various spheres.

The sides also exchanged opinion on actual global and regional problems, including situation in Afghanistan.
