Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 2 November, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov held a meeting with the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade of the Islamic Republic of Iran Reza Rahmani, during which they discussed prospects for strengthening investment and trade economic cooperation. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade.
It was noted that at the moment, countries have significant potential for intensifying economic partnerships within individual priority areas. Special attention was paid to supporting Iranian investors, the number of which is constantly growing: currently, there are 244 enterprises with participation of Iranian investments in Uzbekistan, including 115 enterprises with 100% Iranian capital.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on close cooperation between the ministries of both countries, including through a deep study of points of mutual interest in investment, transport and trade. The results of the joint work will be discussed during the 13th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran, which will be held in December this year in Tashkent.
