Uzbekistan invited to the World Rabbit Congress, which will be held in France in 2021

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The leadership of the World Rabbit Science Association (WRSA) during the online negotiations with representatives of the State Committee on Veterinary and Animal Husbandry of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in France declared the readiness of the organization to accept Uzbekistan as a full member.

WRSA is the world’s largest scientific rabbit research organization. Created in 1976 in the capital of France, today it has branches in 20 countries. The main activities of the WRSA are the World Rabbit Congresses and the publication of the journal World Rabbit Science.

The Uzbek side organized negotiations with the president and secretary general of the organization, Thierry Giden and Juan Pascal-Amoros, with the aim of exchanging views on the development of the field of rabbit husbandry in our country, identifying priority areas for the development of bilateral cooperation.

It was noted at the meeting that Uzbekistan pays great attention to the development of rabbit breeding, it is planned to create rabbit breeding clusters in the regions of the republic, bringing the number of rabbits to 1 million.

Representatives of WRSA highly appreciated the progress in the development of the industry in our country and expressed their readiness to establish fruitful and mutually beneficial cooperation with industry departments of the republic.

It was noted that rabbit breeding occupies a special place in the global economy and the consumption chain, and is one of the cost-effective sectors in agriculture. The best international experience has been accumulated in this area, in particular, the leading countries in this regard are France, Belgium, Spain, Argentina and Mexico.

In their opinion, the program for the development of rabbit breeding in Uzbekistan should be focused on three main tasks:

- raising the knowledge of producers about the potential of this industry, as well as attracting media attention for wide coverage and popularization of rabbit breeding;

- training of future breeders, experts and veterinarians, improving their fundamental technical skills;

- production of pedigree young animals in Uzbekistan, necessary for industrial and farm rabbit husbandry.

As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on organizing a visit of the WRSA mission to Uzbekistan to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the rabbit breeding sector, and jointly implement projects to create rabbit breeding clusters using advanced foreign experience.

French experts also expressed their readiness to provide detailed information and the necessary scientific materials on industrial breeding of rabbits, a balanced nutritious diet, artificial insemination and the creation of the necessary sanitary conditions for keeping rabbits, as well as the systematic organization of breeding.

The Uzbek side was invited to the World Rabbit Congress, which will be held in France in 2021.

The parties agreed to sign an Agreement on cooperation and the opening of a WRSA branch in Uzbekistan.

In addition, information on the latest achievements of Uzbekistan in the field of rabbit breeding will be published in the next issue of the famous scientific journal “World Rabbit Science”.
