Uzbekistan Introduces “Start a Business in 15 Minutes” Principle from 2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 14 November, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, signed a decree introducing the “Start a Business in 15 Minutes” principle in Uzbekistan.

From January 1, 2026, a new procedure for state registration of business entities will come into effect, allowing the simultaneous provision of seven key services.

These services include obtaining an electronic digital signature, submitting an application to open a bank account, obtaining a license, permit, or notification depending on the type of activity, signing a real estate lease agreement, automatic registration as a VAT payer for relevant categories of taxpayers, acquiring and registering cash register equipment, and appointing a company director with registration in the Unified National Labor System.

All of these services under the “Start a Business in 15 Minutes” principle will be provided at the entrepreneur’s discretion. Payment for selected services will be possible through a single QR code, significantly simplifying the registration process.

From next year, individual entrepreneurs will have the right to use a trade name on par with legal entities. Currently, their activities are registered under the full name of the owner.

The process of making changes to licenses and other documents is also being simplified. In cases of changes to the trade name, address, organizational-legal form, or founder’s personal data, updates will occur automatically and without any fees.
