Uzbekistan Introduces Online Visa Extension via Unified Public Services Portal
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Unified Interactive Portal of Public Services of Uzbekistan has introduced the option for online visa extensions for foreign nationals and stateless persons residing in the country, the portal’s press service reports.
Applicants can now submit requests to extend their visas through the “Citizenship” section by completing an electronic form, attaching a copy of their passport or other travel document, and providing a document supporting the reason for the visa extension. Applications must be submitted no later than ten days before the current visa expires.
Extensions can also be submitted by a close relative or an authorized representative who is an Uzbek citizen. In such cases, a notarized power of attorney must be provided.
The Migration and Personalization Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reviews applications within 15 working days. If approved, the applicant receives a receipt for payment of the state fee according to the established rates. After payment, the foreign national must submit their passport to the local migration office within three working days. No later than two working days after submission, the passport will be returned with the visa extension sticker affixed.
