Uzbekistan introduces new mechanism for compensation of losses for land seizure

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved a proposal to introduce a new mechanism for compensation of losses to individuals and legal entities in connection with the withdrawal of land for state and public needs.

The head of Uzbekistan signed a decree “On measures to further improve the system of protection of rights and legitimate interests of business entities”.

According to the decree, a centralized fund for compensation of losses to individuals and legal entities in connection with the withdrawal of land for state and public needs is created under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan.

The head of Uzbekistan instructed to introduce an order of mandatory coordination for the seizure of land for state and public needs with the Fund.

The Cabinet of Ministers was instructed within two months to make a governmental decision on the organization of the Fund’s activities, providing it with specific sources for the formation of its funds.
