Uzbekistan Introduces Licensing for New Fire Safety Activities
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Law “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts”.
Under the amendments, the list of activities requiring licensing has been expanded to include work in the field of fire safety: installation, configuration, repair, and maintenance of automatic fire extinguishing systems and fire alarm devices. Previously, these activities were carried out under a notification-based procedure.
The law also allows foreign legal entities that are not residents of Uzbekistan to apply for licenses and permits through their permanent representative offices registered in the country. For one-time operations related to foreign economic activity and transit cargo, registering a permanent office in Uzbekistan is not required.
The law will come into effect three months after its official publication.
