Uzbekistan introduces liability for refusal to accept appeals of individuals, legal entities

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan introduced liability for refusal to accept and consider appeals of individuals and legal entities, violation of terms of consideration without respectful reasons and non-submission of responses to claims.

The amendments were introduced to Criminal Code of Uzbekistan in line with the law “On introduction of changes and amendments to some legislative acts of Uzbekistan”.

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed the law on 11 December 2014. Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan passed the law on 7 November 2014 and Senate approved it on 14 November 2014.

The amendments said that refusal to accept and consider appeals of legal entities and individuals, violation of terms of consideration without respectful reasons and non-submission of responses to claims, adopting decisions violating legislation and rights of individuals and legal entities will lead to fine at the 25-size of minimal salary, correctional works up to two years and jail up to six months.

Persecution of individuals, members of its family, legal entities and its representatives in connection with their appeal to the state bodies or critical views will be punished with the fine at the size from 25-size to 50-size of minimal salary, correctional works up to two years and jail up to three years.
