Uzbekistan Introduces KPI-Based Bonuses for School Principals and Teachers

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan has approved a new procedure for awarding monthly bonuses to school principals, their deputies, and hourly-based teachers, based on the achievement of key performance indicators (KPI).

Bonuses will be granted from January to December, depending on the total number of points earned by each school.

For principals, the bonus range is set from 3% to 20% of their base salary for achieving 61–100 points, while for deputy principals — from 2.5% to 10%.

An exception is made for school principals whose students have won international Olympiads in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, or computer science.

Only employees who have worked in their main position for at least nine months are eligible for the bonuses.

Additionally, one-time payments are provided for teachers coordinating Zakovat intellectual clubs — 50% of their base salary — and for physical education teachers, up to 20% depending on performance results.

Bonuses will also be awarded for professional excellence, educational work, and extracurricular activities.
