Uzbekistan Introduces Digital System for Disability Certification
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan has adopted Resolution No. 587 “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers in Connection with the Digitalization of the Disability Certification System.”
The document introduces a number of changes to the system. Previously, patients could apply for disability certification only orally through medical advisory commissions at district clinics. Now, applications can also be submitted via Inson centers, social workers, the government portal my.gov.uz, as well as through family doctors.
During the pilot phase, from 1 April 2025, to the present, 12,500 applications were submitted in Tashkent and Navoi region. Of these, 6,500 (52.4%) were submitted through Inson centers, 5,900 (47.5%) via family doctors, and 17 applications (0.1%) through the online portal.
The previous uniform requirements for minimum treatment periods before disability certification (from 4 to 6 months) have been abolished. Now, treatment duration and required medical examinations will be determined individually, based on the specific illness.
In addition, the list of conditions and their consequences eligible for remote disability certification (without in-person examination) has been expanded from 48 to 60 categories.
