Uzbekistan Introduces 5-Year Vehicle Registration Certificates
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Starting from 1 April, vehicle registration certificates (tech passports) in Uzbekistan will be issued with a validity period of five years, the Ministry of Justice announced, citing the relevant government resolution.
The regulation also defines the procedure for notifying the Road Safety Service when transferring responsibility for traffic violations to individuals authorized to operate the vehicle. Under the new rules, notifications are submitted via the EPIGU system or the SafeRoad mobile application. Vehicle owners must log into their personal account and submit a request indicating the duration of the management transfer.
The person receiving the right to drive the vehicle must confirm the request and consent to have any traffic violation fines issued in their name. Confirmation is carried out using an electronic digital signature, Mobile-ID, or Face-ID.
A fee of 10% of the base calculation amount is charged for this service, which currently equals 41,200 soums.
