Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan intends to make the process of replacing driver’s licenses remote. This was announced by the Minister of Justice Ruslanbek Davletov during the "government hour" in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.
The minister noted that the period for replacing driver’s licenses had already been extended two or three times. In his opinion, in general, enough time was provided, but when the period for the replacement of licenses ends, the queues increase sharply.
He noted that when the terms for replacing licenses were extended, the queues at public service centers disappeared.
Ruslanbek Davletov noted that they plan to switch to an electronic system for issuing licenses. He said that now a signature is needed to issue licenses. Because of this, mandatory personal attendance is required. He added that work is underway to remove this requirement.
With an electronic system for issuing rights, the document will be accepted in electronic form. And ready-made driver’s licenses will be sent by mail.
The Minister noted that the introduction of this system will solve problems with queues.
