Uzbekistan intends to allow the exploitation of cars with tinted windows

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan intends to allow the use of vehicles with tinted (darkened) glasses on a paid basis.

The draft resolution “On measures to streamline the operation of vehicles with tinted (darkened) glass” was published for discussion.

The document was drafted to create favorable conditions for drivers of vehicles, including tourists staying on the territory of the republic, as well as ordering the operation of vehicles with tinted (darkened) windows.

The document proposes to allow toning on the windows of passenger vehicles within the light transmission of at least 5% for the rear and 30% for the rear side windows on the basis of the state standard at the Center for Innovative Projects and Services for the Population under the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The document notes that the units of the State Road Safety Service (GRSP) will issue permits for toning. The permit is issued for one year.

Permission is not required to install in the upper part of the windshield of passenger cars a strip not more than 14 cm wide within a light transmission of at least 30%.

According to the document, it is proposed to set the rate for issuing permits and installing toning for car windows at a rate of 90 minimum wages for individuals and 120 for the legal entities, as well as 140 for the legal entities of foreign countries.

For the entry into the territory and transit through the territory of Uzbekistan of vehicles of foreign states with tinted windows it is proposed to collect a fee of US$15. The funds will be directed to the state budget with the targeted direction of these funds for the implementation of social projects.

State authorities (according to the approved list) will receive permits and installation of toning on the windows of official cars for free of charge.

The document proposes to tighten the administrative responsibility for the operation of vehicles with tinted windows without permission.
