Uzbekistan Increases Potato Imports by 9% — Nearly 300,000 Tons Arrived from Pakistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has increased its potato imports, with Pakistan becoming the main supplier.

Preliminary data from the National Statistics Committee indicate that from January to August 2025, 490,800 tons of potatoes were imported from 11 countries, totaling $49.7 million.

This represents a 9.1% increase, or 41,000 tons, compared to the same period last year.

The largest volume of imports came from Pakistan, totaling 299,400 tons, followed by Kazakhstan with 110,000 tons, Afghanistan with 34,800 tons, Kyrgyzstan with 18,100 tons, and Russia with 15,400 tons. An additional 13,100 tons arrived from other countries.
