Uzbekistan Increases Gold Medal Count at III Asian Youth Games
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The number of gold medals won by the Uzbekistan national team at the III Asian Youth Games continues to rise steadily.
One of the standout athletes of the competition was track and field runner Anastasiya Silchenkova, who claimed victory in the girls’ 3000-meter race with a time of 9 minutes 43.61 seconds, confirming her status as one of the country’s most promising athletes.
Parizoda Talabova also delivered impressive results, winning the javelin throw with a distance of 53.08 meters, earning her a gold medal.
The Uzbek delegation added more honors in Muay Thai: Muzaffar Norhodzhaev won gold in the under-54 kg category for athletes under 17, defeating a competitor from Cambodia. Another gold medal went to Asadbek Turdiboev, who triumphed in the under-15, up to 51 kg weight category final against an athlete from Iraq.
The Taekwondo team also achieved notable successes. Omadbek Otabekov became champion in the under-63 kg category, defeating a competitor from Kazakhstan, while Asadbek Samandarov earned a silver medal in the under-55 kg category after losing to a Kazakhstani athlete.
As of now, the Uzbekistan national team has won a total of 28 medals, including 14 gold, 5 silver, and 9 bronze, continuing to strengthen its position at the III Asian Youth Games.
