Uzbekistan increases excise taxes for tobacco products

New rates of excise tax were set in line with resolution of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov “On forecast of main macroeconomic figures and parameters of State Budget of Uzbekistan for 2015”.

According to the resolution, the excise tax for cigarettes from tobacco and its replacements, imported into Uzbekistan, (code 2402 20) was kept at US$18.2 per 1,000 units. The Government also set excise tax for cigarettes from tobacco and its replacements (code 24-2 20 900 0) at the level of US$55 per 1,000 units.

The rate of excise tax for cigars and cigars with stubbed ends, cigarillos, containing tobacco, set at US$0.42 per unit.

The Government of Uzbekistan increased excise tax for tobacco products, produced in Uzbekistan. The excise tax for cigarettes with filters and without grew from 17,451 soums to 19,196 soums for 1,000 units.
