Uzbekistan increases excise taxes for alcohol

New rates of excise tax were set in line with the resolution of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov “On forecast of main macroeconomic figures and parameters of State Budget of Uzbekistan for 2016”.

According to the document, from 1 January 2016 the excise tax for ethyl alcohol makes up 5,020 soums per decilitre (+20%) and for natural wines – 6,050 soums for 1 decilitre of ready product (+5%).

The excise tax for other wines set at 8,333 soums per decilitre (+15%), cognac - -45,878 soums (+22%), vodka and other alcohol products – 43,246 soums (+15) and beer – 5,133 soums (+25%).
