Uzbekistan increases excise taxes for alcohol

New rates of excise tax were set in line with the resolution of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov “On forecast of main macroeconomic figures and parameters of State Budget of Uzbekistan for 2015”.

According to the document, from 1 January 2015 the excise tax for ethyl alcohol makes up 4,183 soums per decilitre (+15%) and for natural wines – 5,767 soums for 1 decilitre of ready product (+5%).

The excise tax for other wines set at 7,246 soums per decilitre (+10%), cognac, vodka and other alcohol products – 37,605 soums (+15) and beer – 4,106 soums (+15%).
