Uzbekistan Increases Electricity Generation by 3.2% in First Eight Months of 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan produced 56.41 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity from January to August 2025, marking a 3.2% increase compared to the same period last year, according to the National Statistics Committee.

The data show that large enterprises reduced their output by 15.46%, generating 41.18 billion kilowatt-hours. Meanwhile, small businesses significantly expanded production, producing 15.23 billion kilowatt-hours over eight months, 2.56 times higher than the January–August 2024 level.

At the same time, the generation of thermal energy by large enterprises declined. During the first eight months of 2025, they produced 13.5 million gigacalories, 11.5% less than the same period last year.
