Uzbekistan identifies measures to ensure the stability of market prices for meat and dairy products

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution “On organization of the activities of the State Committee for Veterinary and Livestock Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

The document approved the organizational structures of the Committee and the organizations included in its composition.

The committee is headed by the chairman. The President of Uzbekistan appoints and dismisses the chairman of the committee on the proposal of the Prime Minister.

The Director General of the Uzbekchorvanasl Agency is the Deputy Chairman of the Committee.

The Chairman of the Committee is the Chief State Veterinary Inspector, his deputies - the Deputy Chief State Veterinary Inspector, veterinary specialists of the State Veterinary Supervision Authority - state veterinary inspectors.

The state-owned enterprises ONZNASLCHILIK and Uzzooveta’minhotkhizmat of the Ministry of Agriculture are transferred to the jurisdiction of the Uzbekchorvanasl Agency.

The document notes that Uzbekistan will develop a procedure for insuring livestock.

A Tashkent branch of the Samarkand Institute of Veterinary Medicine will be created.

In order to ensure the stability of prices for meat and dairy products in each region, at least two enterprises will be created that specialize in feeding cattle for slaughter and organizations specializing in the production of milk and dairy products.

The resolution approved the forecast indicators of livestock numbers, meat and dairy products for the years 2019-2020.

According to the document, by 2021 it is planned to cultivate 13,825 head of cattle, production of 3.646 million tonnes of meat and 11.88 million tonnes of milk.
