Uzbekistan identifies measures to develop exports

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A working meeting was held at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan on the most important tasks to develop and approve the export strategy of industries and regions of the country until 2025, as well as the implementation of measures to improve the tariff and non-tariff regulation of foreign trade.

During the meeting, specific activities were planned within the framework of execution of instructions of the Uzbek President, including to create a National Export Strategy.

The strategy includes targeted measures to diversify the export structure, bring the share of non-raw materials to at least 60 percent, transfer the public services to exporters completely financial support, and the entry of Uzbekistan in the Doing Business ranking among the 50 countries with the highest rates of foreign trade.

Also, the course of measures for creation of the Assembly of Exporters of Uzbekistan was reviewed, main purpose of which will be to coordinate the activities of exporters and provide them with comprehensive assistance in the field.

Specific instructions were given on the revitalization of activities in the field of tariff and non-tariff regulation, providing for the revision and systematization of the already formed package of proposals for the introduction of relevant changes in legislation.
