Uzbekistan, IBM Discuss Investments and Green Data Centers

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During an official visit to the United States, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, held a meeting with Emily Fontaine, Vice President and Head of IBM’s Global Venture Capital Division.

The discussion focused on prospects for further improving Uzbekistan’s investment climate and expanding opportunities for collaboration with both local and international partners.

Special attention was given to the initiative for developing modern “green” data centers across various regions of Uzbekistan. The Uzbek side presented the current incentives and benefits available for projects in this sector.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties confirmed their interest in strengthening cooperation and implementing joint initiatives aimed at enhancing digital infrastructure and attracting investment to Uzbekistan’s technology sector.
