Uzbekistan Hosts “Culture Days” in Saudi Arabia
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 2 to 11 October, Uzbekistan is holding its “Culture Days” in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Uzbek delegation, led by Minister of Culture Ozodbek Nazarbekov, is attending the event.
The program features concerts by Uzbek artists, exhibitions of traditional dishes and handicrafts, cultural pavilions, and displays of rare manuscripts, books, and examples of Uzbek literature.
Uzbekistan is serving as the “Guest of Honor” at the Riyadh International Book Fair, which runs for ten days and attracts over 2,000 publishers from around the world. This marks the first time in the past decade that a non-Arab country has been honored in this way.
During meetings between the culture ministers of Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia, a cooperation agreement in the fields of culture and arts was signed. Additionally, discussions focused on collaborative projects to translate rare Central Asian manuscripts held in Saudi Arabia into Uzbek.
