Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chinese expert and analytical circles pay special attention to large-scale measures to combat coronavirus undertaken in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Dunyo reports.
“Uzbekistan, where the first COVID-19 infections appeared in mid-March, has taken very effective measures to contain coronavirus infection,” said Su Chang, an employee of the Institute for Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. - Firstly, under the firm leadership of the state, Uzbekistan joined forces to combat the epidemic, demonstrating national cohesion. The measures taken by the leadership of the country and supported by the people played a big role in combating the epidemic, stabilizing society and ensuring public health.
Uzbekistan is the most densely populated country in Central Asia and has the highest population density. From this point of view, the epidemic is a more difficult task for Uzbekistan than for other states in the region. Nevertheless, thanks to the introduction of quarantine rules and social exclusion, the country managed to effectively prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.
Secondly, Uzbekistan timely began to close its borders and reduce international flights, thereby preventing the mass spread of the virus. Practical steps have been actively taken in the country, including the prevention and treatment of infected people. As a result of this, we see that the mortality rate from COVID-19 in Uzbekistan is one of the lowest in the world.
At the same time, Uzbekistan has demonstrated very high efficiency in the development of therapeutic drugs, the rapid construction of hospitals, and the production of anti-epidemic materials. The country produces its own medical masks and other accessories that have played a huge role in the fight against COVID-19.
Finally, thirdly, Uzbekistan attaches great importance to international cooperation. In February of this year, the country twice provided significant assistance to China, which indicates a high level of Sino-Uzbek strategic partnership. The Chinese people felt the firm support and warmth of the Uzbek people.
In turn, since March, China began to supply anti-epidemic materials to Uzbekistan, both from the government and the Chinese public. This mutual help and support in difficult times will forever remain in the hearts of the Chinese and Uzbek peoples.
