Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 9 April 2020, an official ceremony was held in Dushanbe to hand over to the Tajik side the humanitarian aid of the Republic of Uzbekistan, consisting of medical products and food products.
The ceremony was attended by Minister of Health and Social Protection Nasim Olimzoda, Chairman of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense, Lieutenant General Rustam Nazarzoda, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Zohir Saidzoda and other Tajik officials, representatives of local and foreign media, from the Uzbek side - Ambassador Ergash Shaismatov and representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan.
The Minister of Health and Social Protection Nasim Olimzoda and the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ergash Shaismatov spoke at the event.
The Tajik side expressed gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the fraternal Uzbek people for sending humanitarian aid as part of measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.
It was noted that the support of Uzbekistan in a difficult situation once again demonstrated the commitment of the country’s leadership to strengthening friendly and good neighborly relations with the countries of Central Asia.
The countries of the region should act shoulder to shoulder against a common threat, help and support each other.
