Uzbekistan halts illegal use of the “ATONIK” trademark
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan has announced that it has stopped the unlawful use of the “ATONIK” trademark.
Despite ongoing efforts to strengthen intellectual property protection, cases of unauthorized use of established brands remain a pressing issue. In particular, the ministry reviewed a complaint filed by the Czech company Asahi Chemical Europe s.r.o. regarding a violation of its rights by the private enterprise N.D.
An inspection revealed that N.D. was offering counterfeit products under the label “AATONIC,” which is phonetically similar to the original “ATONIK” trademark. As a result, enforcement measures were taken against the company, which was ordered to remove the “AATONIC” designation from its products.
The decision is aimed at reinforcing intellectual property protection and promoting respect for brand rights in Uzbekistan.
