Uzbekistan, Germany discuss development of bilateral trade-economic relations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 May 2019, a business briefing and a round table were held in Tashkent with the participation of heads of ministries and departments of the republic, as well as representatives of 17 large German companies.

The events were attended by the Federal President of Germany F. Steinmeier and the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan A. Aripov.

The agenda was presented in the format of panel sessions on specific topics: “Investment framework conditions”, “Training”, “Digitization”, “Financing structures”.

The sides discussed prospects for expanding trade and economic ties and the implementation of joint projects in the fields of energy and infrastructure, as well as strengthening cooperation in the field of science, technology and education. As part of the negotiations, it was repeatedly announced that relations between Uzbekistan and Germany in recent years have moved to a new level of strategic partnership.

As a result of business events, agreements were signed in the fields of energy, information technology, and financial cooperation.
