Uzbekistan Futsal Team Falls to Japan, Advances to Playoffs in Second Place

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbekistan national futsal team was defeated by Japan in the third-round match of Group C at the AFC Futsal Asian Cup, held in Indonesia.

The match ended 2:1 in favor of the Japanese team.

Uzbekistan took the lead early in the 8th minute with a goal from Shahpram Fakhriddinov. Japan equalized in the 30th minute following a deflection, scored by Shoto Yamanaka, who then completed his brace in the 37th minute with the winning goal, securing all three points for his team.

At the end of the group stage, Japan topped the group with nine points, while Uzbekistan finished second with four points.

Tajikistan placed third with two points, and Australia ended at the bottom of the group with one point.
